PRESENT SATE OF MIND TO ITS DESIRED STATE – a journey Part 1 – State of mind
In our school days, we all have studied that physical matter
is found in 3 states:
Solids
Liquids
Gaseous
If you want to convert liquid water to solid state (ice) then
you have to pass it through a process called Freezing. And if you want to
convert liquid into gaseous state (steam) then you have to pass through a
process called evaporation.
Similarly when human beings pass through different
situations, their state of mind changes. Few of these states are desired states
of our mind and few others are undesired state of mind. State of mind has a
great impact on ones appearance, performance, health and almost all aspects of
personal and professional life.
We see a batsman who is on the top of the cricket world
sometimes is not able to score even in double digits continuously for many
matches. We call it out of form in the language of cricket. At times, we also
hear popular film stars being into depression. A person who is very confident,
balanced, and successful at particular phase of his life or in a particular set
of situations finds himself tensed, non-confident and not-so-successful in some
other phase or situations in his life. It means for most of the people
maintaining the resourceful and desired state of mind in every aspect of life for
a long time is challenging.
Whatever maybe the present state of mind of a person whether
resourceful or non-resourceful but his desired state of mind is and should
always be better than his present state of mind.
Following are few non-resourceful states of mind and their
corresponding resourceful state or desired state:-
Worry – Hope
Threats – Opportunities
Insecure – Secure
Purposeless – Goal oriented
Confused - Determined
Weakness - Strength
Unhappy – happy
Failure- success
Family as Liability – Family as asset
Depression – Enthusiasm
Unmanaged- Managed
Dissatisfied- Satisfie
Unhealthy - Healthy
Hurdles – stepping stones
Anger – calm and cool
Load or the situation can't make or break you. It depends
upon the way you carry it.
Whatever goal or objective we make whether short term or long
term is an idea of our conscious mind. If our subconscious mind permits or
gives its full consent to idea of conscious then our state of mind is
resourceful and supportive for that goal. Whenever we make a goal or objective
then for attainment of our desired objective we have to act or perform certain
series of acts or functions.
If our state of mind is not good or resourceful then our
efforts are not whole hearted. The idea, work, goal all seem to be burden and
at times the person gets frustrated. Quiet often the end result is a failure.
If a person carries on the undesired state of mind for long then it may result
in long term disheartened working frustration. Such person finds himself bound in
a vicious circle of failures.
On the other hand if the state of mind is positive or
resourceful and our subconscious mind gives full consent to the idea or goal
set by the conscious mind then the person performs the required actions whole
heartedly. Whatever may be the situation, body does not get tired and mind does
not feel bored. Work itself gives
pleasure. Idioms such as 'Work is Worship, seems to be true. Success embraces
such person. Continuity of this resourceful state of mind results into a series
of success and the person finds himself surrounded by the virtuous Circle of
Successes.
Now the question arises 'How we can convert our
present state of Mind to its Desired state'. It will be covered in my next
